An installed home battery or solar system is a big investment. Getting at least three quotes is the most reliable way to avoid overpaying: prices for the same system often differ by 20–40% between installers.

What to prepare

• Your last 12 months of electricity bills (kWh per month)
• Which circuits you want backed up (or use our home battery calculator)
• Photos of your electrical panel and roof

Questions to ask every installer

• What is the total price per kWh of storage and per watt of solar, after incentives?
• Which battery and inverter brands, and what warranty (years and cycles)?
• Is the system whole-home or partial backup? What peak power (kW) can it deliver?
• Who handles permits, utility interconnection and incentive paperwork?
